FAYETTEVILLE -- The winter weather delayed Friday the scheduled court appearances of a man charged with negligent homicide involving a crash on Interstate 540 and a man accused of shooting at a University of Arkansas fraternity house.

Those and other Washington County Circuit Court cases that were delayed by the weather earlier this week have been reset. Individuals whose cases were delayed should contact their attorneys for the new date when they need to be in court, according to court personnel.

Richard Meinke, 48, of Cabot is charged with negligent homicide charges stemming from a Sept. 30 car crash on Interstate 540.

Meinke was driving his 2007 Toyota Tundra the wrong direction in the southbound lane of I-540, near West Fork, when he struck head-on a 2002 Honda Civic driven by Bradley Norris, 19, of Vilonia. Norris, a University of Arkansas student, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meinke was hospitalized for a time.

Police and prosecutors say Meinke was drunk and drove some 8 miles in the wrong lanes before the wreck just south of the Bobby Hopper Tunnel.

Meinke was scheduled for a court appearance Friday. It was reset for Feb. 4.

Felipe Ibarra, 18, is accused of several drug charges and he and another man allegedly fired shots at a University of Arkansas fraternity house after they were thrown out of a party for trying to sell Ecstasy to guests. He was scheduled to appear Friday in Washington County Circuit Court. It was reset for Feb. 4.

Ibarra is already serving a 45-year prison sentence for selling drugs and having guns in his Greenland home.
