ROGERS, Ark. -- Police
said the driver involved in a head-on collision that killed a
University of Arkansas on Tuesday may have been intoxicated.Richard
Meinke, 47, of Cabot, now faces drunken driving charges for driving
nearly six miles the wrong way down Interstate 540 and then hitting
another car.Brad Norris, 19, was in that other car and died at the scene.Friends
said it was ironic that Norris, who had never had a drop of alcohol,
was killed in a crash where the other driver was allegedly drunk."As
you get older, you think you get smarter and wiser," said friend Carrie
Forrester. "Just to think somebody so much older than us, driving drunk
on the wrong side of the interstate.""I just found out a couple of hours ago," said Erik Walther. "I couldn't believe it. I was waiting for him to walk in the door."Police
said they are still waiting on blood test results from the state crime
lab to confirm that Meinke had alcohol in his system.
